Carl is a full-time lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences in Essen, Germany, where he is responsible for the development and teaching of business and legal English language modules on a variety of Bachelor degree study programmes. He has also developed and runs online courses for multi-national companies based in Germany such as the Bertelsmann Group.
He has worked in ELT since 1992 and in that time has also held a lectureship in Italy (LIUC, Milan), where he helped set up the university' s language department. He also founded and ran his own British Council accredited English language summer school for university students, which was based in London and Exeter in England.
Carl has taken part in a number of ICT training programmes with The Consultants-E and is now developing online courses using Moodle and integrating other online tools (e.g. wikis and blogs) into courses for his university students and business clients.
Carl holds a Joint Honours BA in English and Italian from the University of Warwick, where he was also awarded an MA in English. He also studied at the University of Bologna and the University of Oxford. He has a CELTA and has also gained online teaching qualifications such as E-moderation skills and the Trinity quality- assured ' ICT in the Classroom ' with The Consultants-E.
