Miguel Mendoza
Miguel
Mendoza is a full time teacher at Universidad
Central de Venezuela (UCV) and works for the
School of Information Science there. In this school,
his main concern is helping students learn how to
understand texts written in English in the field
of Information science. He is currently member of
the Community Service and Students-with-disabilities
committees. From 2006, he started working for the
British Council as an ICT teacher trainer to show
teachers from public schools and universities how
to integrate ICT into the language classroom. His
experience as a teacher trainer has taken him to
make presentations on behalf of the British Council
in events such as VenTESOL in
Venezuela. He is currently the secretary and founder
of a young, nascent association called AVEALMEC which
promotes the use of ICT in ELT in Venezuela.
Miguel's main research fields are extensive reading,
and the use of technology in ELT.
Miguel has gained online teaching qualifications
such as E-moderation skills and Moodle with The
Consultants-E. He has also attended International
and national events to increase his knowledge on
the use of ICT in the language classroom. Miguel
is member of NAPP -
The National association of Photoshop Photographers.
