EduNation I Educator Rentals
IMPORTANT NEWS FOR SECOND LIFE USERS
As part of a re-structure in the focus of the work we are doing we are scaling down our Second Life presence over the coming months. On 30 September 2010 we will be removing EduNation and EduNation III from our SL portfolio, leaving us with EduNation II where we will still be offering free Second Life space for educators and regular education events.
Please note that EduNation will be taken over by Heike Philp and the AVALON team from September 2010 and will continue to run as before in terms of rentals. If you're paying in-world you will likely notice no difference. If you're currently on contract with us then you will be able to renew your contract with Heike and team when the time comes.
We are also working on a deal for one of the EduNation III community to take over the running of that island and hope to have some news soon. |
EduNation I was the original island bought back in 2006, and the original headquarters of The Consultants-E in Second Life. Since then it has been redeveloped into rental plots for educators working primarily in distance and blended learning.
The following organisations (amongst others) are represented there:

- Lancelot
There are surrently two rental plots available on this island - please contact us if you're interested. When you rent a plot on EduNation you also get FREE access to EduNation II - a complete private sim for events, classes and seminars:
What can I do on EduNation II?
- Host an educational event or conference
- Receive training in how to use Second Life for educational purposes
- Find out more about The Consultants-E (visit our Headquarters)
- Use the Seminar Room for seminars and powerpoint presentations
- Use the Podcast lounge for audio and video podcast sessions
- Use the Videocast Lounge for streaming video presentations
- Visit the Social Space for social activities, film showings and parties
- Visit the archives of past conferences
- Build in the free sandbox
- Host a 2-sim event of up to 100 participants with audio, video and PPT
