EduNation III Rentals

Welcome to EduNation III, the third in a series of private island sims in Second Life dedicated to education, research, training, distance and blended learning and development. The island is divided into 22 plots of 2048 square metres each, all available for rent.

There are three basic rental types. Each plot comes with a building already on it - this is to preserve the look and feel of the island, and not to force everyone to play 'keeping up with the Jones' when their neighbours buy ever-opulent houses. Each house is ideal as both a meeting space, company headquarters and a 'residential' space for your avatar, or those of your company or institution. Visit the show house on the island to see a sample finished office space.

[ 100-person convention centre ]

When you rent a plot on EduNation III, you will get a piece of land measuring 2048 square metres, and the house that is built on that space. The prim allowance for each space is 450, of which approximately 150 have been used for landscaping, walkways and the house itself.

Tenants also get use of all the facilities in the centre of the island:

- conference centre
- outdoor auditorium with Powerpoint and video facilities
- teaching decks and circular seating facilities
- shoutcast stream
- ventilo server for alternative audio supply

Additionally you will also have access to the EduNation II island (which can be booked for private events and classes) and the 100-person crossover conference centre which lies between EduNation III and EduNation II in the south-east corner.

What can I do on EduNation II?

1. Host an educational event or conference
2. Receive training in how to use Second Life for educational purposes
3. Find out more about The Consultants-E (visit our Headquarters)
4. Use the Seminar Room for seminars and powerpoint presentations
5. Use the Podcast lounge for audio and video podcast sessions
6. Use the Videocast Lounge for streaming video presentations
7. Visit the Social Space for social activities, film showings and parties
8. Visit the archives of past conferences
9. Build in the free sandbox
10. Host a 2-sim event of up to 100 participants with audio, video and PPT

We do not operate a covenant system on our islands, as we feel that working within one community (education), this is largely unnecessary. We do ask, however, that organisations renting space on our islands observe these simple rules:

- no building higher than your residence
- no sex, gambling, clubs or other entertainment centres
- no advertising (outside your field of work)
- a minimum of scripted objects (to guarantee a fast sim)
- no adult material
- mutual respect for other tenants

RENTAL PLUS

- 1 x 2048 square metre plot
- 1 x office/residential building
- minimum of 250 prims available (on top of the build that is there)
- control HUD (audio/video controls, ban and kick, etc.)
- basic tools package

The basic tools package includes everything you see in the show house apart from the advanced television set. You will get all the office, social and patio furniture you need, as well as the following tools:

- Powerpoint display
- Speakeasy HUD
- Email computer
- Radio
- Information kiosk

You will also be eligible for branding of your building with logos and promotional information

Per month: US$15 (minimum one month, no maximum)
Basic tools package: US$99
Total annual cost: US$279 [ first year only, US$180 thereafter ]
