Many teachers worldwide are stepping into their classrooms and meeting their new students! We wanted to find out how educators worldwide begin the school year successfully so we asked our Twitter and Facebook community:
What tips do you have for those beginning the school year to make this one a great year?
These are the incredible tips they provided!
- Lu Bodeman (@lu_bodeman)- Learn with your students, allow them to share, and be proud of their accomplishments.
- Marisa Pavan (Mtranslator)- Do your best to motivate your students by using wiki spaces or Facebook groups so as to keep in touch with them and offer them the opportunity to develop 21st century skills. My tip for those starting their school year is to take advantage of the opportunities to develop their creativity and to improve their collaborative skills. Above all, you should enjoy learning.
- Faisal Shamali (@Shamali288)- allow students share teachers with designing the curriculums. I myself deliver questionnaires to get close to my students and get to know their favourite style of learning.
- Shelly Terrell (@shellterrell)- allow students and parents to make decisions about the curriculum :-)
We also asked:
How do you relax before the school day begins?
- Judit Gábris- I picture my school building, then a mushroom cloud.
- Tyson Seburn (@seburnt)- Remember that it is just another day, but with different (exciting) stuff happening.
- Willow Vanderwoman- I go for a swim, maybe a jacuzzi or a long hot bath, then meditate on how the day will go, sending love and joy, peace and "ease" into the picture. Then a large nightcap of chocolate rooibos tea with half a shot of brandy, a good book and early to bed, sending thanks to the Universe that it's going to go well.
We hope you have a great start to the school year! Let us know in the comments what your tips are and include links to any posts or resources you found valuable :-)
